These drawings were made in 2006. My wife and I had just moved out of NYC back to Jersey City, NJ. We lived across the street from this park called Van Vorst park. I used to look at the park out my all day. I also used to take my dog for walks in it as well. Anyway, The park was beautiful and it used to have the craziest mix of people that inhabited the place. So I decided to make these drawings of the park.
It seemed to me that each part of the city had its own park. It served as a place for people to escape their apartment and forget about life in such an urban area for a few minutes. Grass and trees are precious in the city. They serve as healthy reminder for what was once and what will be again.
